Background Information
All work charge Government employees who were not getting the benefits of pension
subscribed to this Fund. A subscriber, at the time of joining the Fund is required
to make a nomination, in the prescribed form, conferring on one or more persons
the right to receive the amount that may stand to his credit in the Fund in the
event of his death, before that amount has become payable or having become payable
has not been paid.
Scheme Applicable On:
The scheme was implemented in phases on the work charge employees of the following
department.
- On work charge employees of public works and horticulture department from 1.1.1961
- On work-charge employees of PHED the scheme was implemented from 1-4-1955. From
1-9-1980 the employees who completed 10 years of their service ,were given an option
to contribute towards GPF
- On work charge employees of mines department from 1-4-1987.
- On work-charge employees of forest department from 25.07.1994
